Your First Visit

Your first visit is where everything starts, and we built it to feel less like an appointment and more like a conversation. From the moment you call, our goal is to get you in the door fast — most new patients are seen within one to three days, because we know that once you’ve decided to look into treatment, waiting weeks for a first appointment is frustrating.

When you arrive, you’ll meet our team and get a tour of what to expect, whether this is your first time in an orthodontic office or your third kid coming through our doors. We’ll take a complimentary digital scan using our iTero scanner — no goopy impressions, no gagging, just a few minutes of comfortable, precise imaging that gives Dr. Shannon or Dr. Larsen a full, accurate picture of your teeth right away. If your case calls for it, we may also take a CBCT scan, which shows the full 3D structure of your jaw and bite, not just a flat image.

From there, Dr. Shannon or Dr. Larsen will sit down with you directly to go over what they’re seeing, what your options are, and what a realistic timeline looks like for your specific case — not a generic estimate, but a real answer based on your scan. If treatment makes sense, many patients are able to start that same day. If it doesn’t make sense yet, or if we think it’s worth watching for a bit longer before starting anything, we’ll tell you that too. Either way, you’ll leave your first visit with a clear next step, a clear cost picture, and no pressure to decide anything on the spot.

We know a first visit can come with some nerves, especially for kids — that’s part of why our office is built the way it is, with an energetic team, brackets shaped like Mickey Mouse and Gator heads on display, and a genuinely warm atmosphere from the front desk on back. Our team is also nearly entirely bilingual, so if Spanish is the language you’re most comfortable communicating in, that’s never a barrier here. Whatever brought you in, we want your first visit to be the reason you feel good about the ones that follow.

Financial Info

We believe cost shouldn’t be a mystery, and we believe a great treatment plan shouldn’t be out of reach because of how it’s paid for. Here’s how we make that work.

Insurance

We accept all PPO insurance plans and are proudly in-network with a wide variety of major carriers to help you maximize your coverage and keep out-of-pocket costs to a minimum. Our team handles the claim process directly with your provider so you can focus on your new smile.

We are in-network with the following providers:

Aetna, BlueCross BlueShield, BlueCross BlueShield FEP Dental, Tricare, Guardian, Ameritas, Cigna, Dentemax, Humana, Assurant, Dental Health Alliance, Sunlife Financial, United Concordia, United Healthcare, Principal, GEHA, Meritain Health, Solstice, Teamcare, Lincoln Financial, The Standard, Florida Combined Life, Mutual of Omaha, Advantage Dental, and Unum.

Don’t see your plan listed? We still accept your coverage! Give us a call—our team will verify your specific benefits free of charge and walk you through your coverage options before your first visit so there are never any surprises.

Financing

Not every family pays for orthodontic treatment the same way, and we offer financing to make a treatment plan work with your budget rather than around it. We partner with CareCredit and Alpheon to offer flexible financing options, and our team will walk you through what’s available at your consultation.

As a general guide, most treatment plans start with a $300 minimum down payment, followed by monthly payments ranging from $157 to $191, depending on your specific treatment length and insurance coverage. We’ll give you an exact number for your case — not a range — once we’ve reviewed your plan and your insurance benefits together.
